Amidu Ellani returns with emotional love anthem “Ndabwelerako”

By Alfred Banda
Lilongwe, March 18, Mana: Afro-soul musician Amidu Ellani has released a new single titled “Ndabwelerako,” meaning “I have returned.” The song explores the emotional realities of toxic relationships and the importance of walking away for personal well-being.
Ellani, originally from Zomba but based in Lilongwe, said the track marks a shift from his previous single “Ndidikilebe,” which focused on the struggles of student life, to a more relationship-centered theme.
He explained that “Ndabwelerako” tells the story of a person who, after enduring a draining and unhealthy relationship, decides to step away and regain control of their life.
Ellani said, “The main idea is to tell people that it is better to quit if you feel like the relationship is draining your energy.”
The artist added that the song is not based on a true story but was inspired by observations of real-life experiences people face in relationships. He noted that while the themes differ, both “Ndabwelerako” and “Ndidikilebe” carry a similar emotional tone, aiming to deliver meaningful life lessons to listeners.
Ellani expressed hope that young people will learn to walk away from harmful situations and take time to reflect in order to avoid repeating past mistakes. He encouraged fans to use the song as a guide for making safer and healthier relationship choices.
Meanwhile, University of Malawi student Chilemba Chrispin described the song as relatable and impactful.
Chrispin said, “The song is very good and speaks to real-life situations. It encourages people to step away from toxic relationships, reflect, and avoid making harmful decisions such as taking their own lives.”
Ellani’s music is available on major streaming platforms, including YouTube, Spotify, Boomplay, Deezer, and Apple Music. He thanked his fans for their continued support and urged them to keep promoting his work.
The release of “Ndabwelerako” demonstrates Ellani’s growth as an artist, as he continues to blend Afro-soul rhythms with messages that resonate with young people navigating the challenges of life and love.
