Faizan Global Relief Foundation (FGRF) has disbursed K100 million to 100 families as part of an ongoing empowerment program designed to support vulnerable families to transition toward financial independence.
Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony in Blantyre on Wednesday, FGRF Head of Africa, Usman Madani, highlighted that the foundation’s impact extends beyond direct cash transfers.
He noted that the organization has also supported over 150,000 individuals directly or indirectly through various non-cash interventions, such as distributions of maize flour, sugar, and other essential items during the recent Ramadan period.FGRF director of public relations and communications in Malawi, Ibrahim Omar Mataya said their organisation is committed to making the lives of the locals better and called for concerted efforts from various sectors to achieve that.
One of the beneficiaries, Hanifu Qaussimu from Machinga, expressed gratitude for the support, stating that he will use the funds to scale up his maize-selling business.
