Police at Area 3 in Lilongwe have arrested a well-known TikTok content creator, popularly known as iPhone Daddy, for allegedly obtaining K3.2 million from several people on the pretext that he would supply them with iPhone gadgets.
According to Deputy public relations officer for Lilongwe police Nkhumbo Sanyiwa iPhone Daddy, whose real name is Innocent Josephy, 25 , was arrested on September 5, 2026, at Area 24 in Lilongwe.
Sanyiwa further said that the suspect, whose Facebook page is registered under the name Innocent Josephy, is allegedy to have collected money from his Facebook followers as upfront payments for iPhones.
However, the suspect allegedly failed to supply the iPhones after receiving the money from the customers.
Lilongwe Police managed to arrest the suspect, who had reportedly been on the run for several days.
He is expected to appear in court soon to answer theft charges.
Josephy was also arrested and taken to court for committing similar offences in 2024.
Innocent Josephy hails from Majeni Village, Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dedza Districts.
