Sorry I’m Not Sorry One-month Therapy Campaign a Success

By Wendy Mkandawire

Sorry I’m Not Sorry, an organization fighting men’s mental health challenges, has described its one-month therapy campaign as successful, saying it helped men speak out and access free support amid rising suicide cases.

The campaign ran from June 1 to July 10, 2026, to commemorate Men’s Mental Health Month.

The organization stated that men across the nation lack the courage to disclose the challenges and burdens they are experiencing, leading to impulsive decisions such as committing suicide.

Speaking in an interview, Director Thokozile Kadango said the campaign aimed to create a safe space for men to speak out and access free therapy, including support for issues like financial stress.

He said the campaign reached 17 districts, citing that 204 men received one-on-one counseling services from psychologists. She said 120 advocates were trained to highlight the importance of therapy for mental health problems.

Additionally, she said 133 community conversations were held across districts to discuss mental health issues among men.

Kadango further said that, the turnout showed that men are willing to seek help when given a safe and accessible platform.

According to Kadango the organization will continue pushing for awareness so that more men know that asking for help is not a weakness.
