Mchinji Villa FC and Manzo Chisomo FC shared the spoils in a thrilling 3-3 draw in the Gojet Investments Central Region Football Association (CRFA) Division One League at Mchinji Community Ground on Monday.
Mchinji Villa made a dream start when Michael Ng’oma scored in the opening minute, but Anafi Alick equalised for Manzo Chisomo in the ninth minute. Christopher Gomani then gave the visitors the lead in the 27th minute before Bright Ngonga levelled in the 35th minute to send the teams into the break tied at 2-2.
After the restart, Gomani completed his brace in the 51st minute to restore Manzo Chisomo’s lead. However, Mchinji Villa fought back and Ngonga converted a penalty in the 70th minute to secure a share of the points.Mchinji Villa coach Tumpale Kasote praised his players for gradually adapting to his philosophy, while Manzo Chisomo coach Laston Phiri said his side would focus on improving concentration and defensive organisation after the entertaining contest.
The result lifted Mchinji Villa FC to sixth place with six points, while Manzo Chisomo FC remained eighth on the Gojet Investments CRFA Division One League table with five points.
