Faith Based Worship

By Minister Collin Chingota

The Bible records a striking story where Abel and Cain both offered sacrifices of worship to God, but God accepted Abel’s sacrifice and not Cain’s. But, why did God accept Abel’s worship?

Hebrews 11:4a By faith, Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain.

The differentiating factor was faith. Abel’s worship was inspired by faith. What this means is that Abel had a conviction about the nature of God and his abilities.

He was persuaded from his heart that God is what He says He is and can do what He says He can do.

You see, many Christians today are like Cain. We know how to proclaim about God’s nature, but we do not truly believe it.

Our worship is based on what we have heard about God, but not what we believe about Him. No wonder our worship lacks the excellence that Abel’s worship had.

From today onwards, make sure to align your worship to what you truly believe about God, and you will God manifest Himself to you.
