We are living in an age where the message of the cross is becoming unpopular at the expense of a feel-good message. The sad result is that we are raising a powerless an uncommitted church. However, the message of the cross is the foundation of true Christianity.
Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
The condition for following Jesus is self-denial and carrying your cross. This foundation has not changed. The same grace that led us to Christ, is the same grace that helps us to carry our cross.
To embrace the cross means total commitment. It means letting go of your own comfortability for the sake of following the will of God in your life.
It is this life of total surrender that leads to the power of God to be displayed in our lives such that we are able to be God’s witnesses in everything that we do.
