Mzuzu University (Mzuni) is set to host its 26th graduation ceremony scheduled for Thursday.
President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is expected to preside over ceremony following a briefing on upcoming construction of Entrepreneurs Training and Incubation Centre (ETIC) and new student hostels at the university’s main campus.
This significant development is expected to bolster entrepreneurial skills and provide much-needed accommodation for the growing student population.
In an interview on Tuesday, Mzuni Assistant Registrar responsible for Public Relations and International Affairs, Cliff Kawanga, said Chakwera will confer certificates, diplomas and degrees to graduates in various faculties.
He said the programme has been split across Thursday and Friday to accommodate all the graduates.
Chakwera will preside over Thursday’s session which will feature graduates from faculties of Science, Technology and Innovation, Tourism, Hospitality and Management, Humanities and Social Science, Education Postgraduate Programs, and Environmental Sciences Postgraduate Programs,” said Kawanga.
Kawanga added that the dual celebration of academic achievement and infrastructure development highlights Mzuni’s commitment to fostering educational excellence and innovation.
“The new ETIC and student hostels are expected to enhance the university’s capacity to support student entrepreneurship and provide a conducive living environment, further cementing Mzuni’s role as a leading educational institution in Malawi,” said Kawanga.
One of the would be graduates, Lumbani Tchongwe, who was pursuing Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education said she is excited to graduate going through a four year hard working period.
Mzuni, established in 1997, offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs with focus on fostering intellectual growth and professional development.
