Blue Eagles coach eyes stronger attack after loss to Dedza Dynamos

By Mana
Derklek Masakakuona, says his coaching panel will meet to discuss ways to strengthen the team’s attacking force and improve goal-scoring efficiency.
Masakakuona made the remarks on Sunday following their TNM Super League encounter, in which Blue Eagles were defeated 1-0 at home by Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos at Nankhaka Stadium.
The lone goal was scored by Blessings Phiri in the 78th minute.
In his post-match comment, the coach expressed confidence in his squad but highlighted the lack of effort from strikers as the main challenge.
“If you recall the game just ended; we were in a strong position to win. We created numerous chances but failed to convert them into goals,” Masakakuona said.
He pointed out that players such as Christopher John Banda and Jacob Robert have the potential to turn the team’s fortunes around.
“Very soon, you will see us scoring up to four goals in a game. Let us focus on the players who are currently in my squad, not those who are no longer with us,” he added.
The Blue Eagles were missing key players, including Joshua Waka, who has transferred to Ekhaya FC, Micium Mhone, who was serving a red card suspension, Ian Chinyama, sidelined with injury, and Levison Mnyenyembe, who was on loan at Blue Eagles from Ascent Academy and has now joined Ekhaya FC.
Dedza Dynamos

Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos Head Coach, Sir Alex Ngwira, described the win as more than just three points, emphasizing its importance for attracting sponsors.

“Yes! We are very happy. Just as people buy commodities they are attracted to, clubs too attract sponsors when performing well. This is a way of showing sponsors that we can deliver,” Ngwira said.
Reports indicate that Goshen City, owned by Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, is considering a sponsorship deal with Dedza Dynamos as the Premier Bet contract came to an end.
Other results from Sunday’s TNM Super League fixtures included Ekhaya FC losing 2-1 to Mzuzu City Hammers at Kamuzu Stadium, Mighty Wanderers defeating MAFCO FC 1-0 at Champions Stadium, and Moyale Barracks falling 3-1 to Karonga United at Karonga Stadium.
