Renowned dancehall artist Fatsani Che Kalonda, popularly known as Blakjak, has returned to the music scene after a four-year silence with a new single titled “Ena Akugona”.
Speaking to the Malawi News Agency on Tuesday, Blakjak said the song highlights the importance of appreciating other peoples hard work instead of undermining their efforts.
“The message in this song is simple but powerful.
We need to learn to appreciate what others are doing rather than pulling each other down. I am back, and people should expect good quality music. I am also thankful to all my fans for welcoming me after the long break I took from releasing music,” said Che Kalonda.
He disclosed that fans can expect more music before the end of 2025, including four major collaborations with fellow artists from Inhouse Media.
The single “Ena Akugona” is already available on Blakjaks YouTube channel and will be distributed to local radio stations. One of his long-time fans, Stewart Chipala, welcomed the artists return to the industry.
“Blakjak has always been one of my favourite local rappers because of the messages in his songs. His return is timely, and I believe ‘Ena Akugona’ will inspire many young people to work hard and respect others hustle,” Chipala said.
Blakjak rose to fame with hits such as “Ndapita” and is regarded as one of the pioneers of Malawis urban music industry.
