Afrobeat singer Ayo Landie has released a touching new single titled MAMA, a heartfelt tribute to mothers ahead of Mothers Day, which falls on October 15, 2025.
Speaking to Malawi News Agency (Mana), Ayo Landie said the song was inspired by the love and gratitude he feels towards his own mother.
“The love I have for my mother inspired me to write a song that appreciates her. The sacrifice and care of a mother are beyond understanding, and the only way I could show my appreciation was through expression in my art and talent,” he said.The artist added that MAMA carries a message of love and respect for all mothers, urging listeners to reflect on their sacrifices.
“What I expect most from people is that they relate to the story in the song and see the importance of a mothers care,” he said.
Landie described the first verse of the track as his favourite and revealed that he is currently self-managed. He also shared plans to promote the song widely across digital platforms.
“I plan on widespread media sharing on platforms, TV stations, and radio stations; getting the music out enough to make an impact,” he said.
A mother, Mrs. Kamtapeni, who listened to the song, described it as a timely reminder ahead of Mothers Day.
“Mothers need to be cherished and gifted. I ask all those who still have their mothers alive to show them love or give them gifts if theres that chance. Songs like this remind us how special mothers are,” she said.
A fan, Chimzy Chimfuti, also praised the song, saying both the audio and video carry powerful lessons for young people.
“The song is very good. The video itself teaches us young ones how to love our mothers, giving them a little something, since they have struggled to raise us. Giving them Nsalu or Mpunga on this special day makes them happy,” he said.
Ayo Landies MAMA was released yesterday. Meanwhile, Miracle Chunga also announced on her Facebook page that she will release her song in time to celebrate Mothers Day.
