Malawian musician and guitarist Maggie Kadrum, whose real name is Maggie Kangoma Mkandawire, is set to embark on her first-ever international music tour in Germany with support from Uraha Foundation Germany, marking a significant milestone in her blossoming career.
The tour, scheduled from October 19 to November 8, 2025, will see Kadrum perform in eight cities across Germany, where she is expected to showcase Malawis unique cultural rhythms and musical talent to European audiences.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana), Kadrum said the tour was inspired by her desire to connect with people beyond radio broadcasts through live performances.
“I have always dreamed of performing and connecting with people through my music beyond the radio. I am excited and grateful for this opportunity, as I am ready to showcase Malawis musical talent on the international stage,” said Kadrum.
She added that her performances will also feature storytelling sessions about Malawis history and culture, in collaboration with Professor Friedemann Schrenk from Senckenberg University in Germany.
“My performances will not just be about music, but also about sharing Malawis background stories and cultural heritage,”she explained.
Kadrums music blends traditional and jazz elements, with messages that promote self-realization and self-reliance, particularly among women and girls.
Uraha Foundation Germany is an organization that promotes cultural exchange and strengthens historical and artistic ties between Germany and Malawi.
