Miss Malawi organising committee has announced Malawian hip-hop artist, Limbani Kalilani, popularly known as Tay Grin, as the official theme song artist and headline performing act for all Miss Malawi 2025 events.
Speaking during the announcement at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre, Public Relations and Communications Specialist for the Miss Malawi 2025 organizing team, Stephan Mdala, said the decision to choose Tay Grin was inspired by his embodiment of heritage, innovation, and excellence.
“These are the qualities that reflect the spirit of today’s Malawian women and the essence of the Miss Malawi brand. His artistry will inspire pride in our culture and confidence in our identity,” Mdala added.On his part, Tay Grin who also serves as Malawi’s Tourism Ambassador, said it was an honour to take part in a platform that promotes the country’s image globally.
“As a nation, we need to come together and promote Malawi in ways that attract the world to invest in us. I have always championed culture and promoted Malawi through music, so this collaboration will help us achieve even more,” he added.
Tay Grin stated that the upcoming theme song will reflect Malawi’s beauty and talent, promising something remarkable that will represent the country with pride.
During the event, the committee also announced a new partnership with Amaryllis Hotel, which will serve as the official venue sponsor for the Miss Malawi Southern Region preliminaries.
Sales and Marketing Manager for Amaryllis Hospitality Group, Khaira Sondhi, said the partnership goes beyond sponsorship.“This represents a shared commitment to excellence, empowerment, and national pride.
The Miss Malawi brand aligns perfectly with our vision of showcasing the best of Malawi’s beauty, talent, and potential,” she added.
Sondhi explained that Amaryllis was proud to provide a world-class setting where Malawians can shine and looks forward to expanding the partnership to create a greater community impact.
The Miss Malawi organizing team is expected to select 12 finalists out of 30 contestants during the auditions scheduled for October 18, ahead of the grand finale in December.
