Water Challenges Affecting Services at Nkhatabay District Hospital

Nkhatabay District Hospital is facing water challenges that is affecting the delivery of healthcare services, prompting intervention from the ministry of health.
Persistent water supply disruptions at the hospital have made it increasingly difficult for health workers to provide quality services
Speaking when visited Nkhatabay District Hospital secretary for Health and Sanitation Dan Namarika assured hospital management that the ministry would work closely with the relevant authorities to curb water challenges at the facility.
“The Ministry of health and Sanitation will remain committed to working hand in hand with partners to address infrastructure challenges that affect healthcare delivery and ensure every Malawian has access to safe and reliable health”, he added.
Namarika further said that the ministry remains committed to strengthening human resource management, including recognizing and rewarding hard work through career progression and promotions in accordance with public service procedures.
Namarika has commended the dedication and resilience of the hospital staff,who have continued to provide healthcare services despite the difficult working conditions at the facility.
To address the challenge the hospital established an alternative water supply system to ensure continuity of essential services
