By Chiyembekezo Kachitsa

In the vibrant city of Lilongwe, a new era in the music industry dawned with the launch of ‘Money Making Music’ (MMM), a record label founded by the renowned Amapiano musician Zeze Kingston. The grand unveiling at the Bingu International Convention Centre was not just a celebration of new beginnings but also a testament to Zeze’s commitment to nurturing local talent and reshaping the Malawian music scene.

Zeze Kingston, a name synonymous with innovation in the Amapiano genre, articulated his vision for MMM with clarity and passion. He emphasized the untapped potential within the country’s music industry and his desire to provide a platform for emerging artists. His message was clear: MMM is here to foster growth, provide opportunities, and elevate the standards of music production and management in Malawi.

Dorothy Kingston, the artist’s wife and the public relations lead for MMM, echoed this sentiment in her interview. She highlighted the label’s dedication to making a lasting impact and contributing significantly to the creative industry’s expansion. With a strategic approach to managing both local and international artists, organizing events, and encouraging artist collaborations, MMM is poised to become a powerhouse in the music world.

The event was not just about speeches and promises; it was a showcase of action and progress. Zeze introduced the world to his new international brand manager, James Makunje, and the full management team, signaling a well-structured approach to achieving the label’s goals. Furthermore, the signing of three artists—Malimba Music, NaeRae, and Envee—under the MMM banner marked the beginning of a journey filled with potential and excitement.
