By George Mponda
The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has co-opted Acting Sports Officer for Karonga District Council Duma Ngoma as the 11th member of its Executive Committee, effective immediately, following a resolution made at a duly convened meeting held on January 15, 2026.
In a memo signed by SULOM President Brigadier General Gilbert Mittawa, the Executive Committee stated that the decision to co-opt Ngoma was made in exercise of its constitutional powers and will see him serve until the next Elective Annual General Meeting, scheduled for 2027.
“This decision was reached in recognition of your experience, commitment, and the value your contribution is expected to add to the governance and development of top-flight football in Malawi,” reads part of the memo.
The memo further states that the Executive Committee is confident Ngoma will make a positive contribution to the growth of elite football in the country during his term of office.
Reacting to the appointment, Ngoma said he was honoured and ready to serve Malawian football with dedication and humility.
