The Church of Central Africa Presbyterian Students Organisation (CCAPSO) will celebrate its Silver Jubilee on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at CIVO Stadium in Lilongwe, marking 25 years of nurturing students in faith, leadership, and service.
The celebration is expected to attract thousands of participants, including students, alumni, church leaders, and Christians from within and outside Malawi, and will coincide with the CCAPSO National Conference to be held from August 1 to 3 at LUANAR’s Bunda campus.
“CCAPSO has elevated how people worship in our churches and helped youth grow academically, professionally, and spiritually,” said Silver Jubilee Organising Task Force Chairperson, Dr Sekeleghe Kayuni.
He said the celebrations will begin with a parade from Lilongwe CCAP Church at 8 a.m., proceeding through Old Town to CIVO Stadium by 10 a.m.
Activities on the day will include music performances, testimonies, exhibitions, and speeches from church leaders and alumni. This year’s celebration will be held under the theme “Ebenezer, thus far the Lord has helped us” (1 Samuel 7:12), symbolising gratitude and renewed commitment to the organisation’s mission.
The Moderator of the CCAP General Assembly, Right Reverend Bizwick CK Nkhoma, is expected to preside over the event alongside leaders from all three CCAP synods in Malawi, as well as representatives from Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Dr Kayuni disclosed that the event has a budget of K45.8 million, and although K14 million is still needed, he expressed optimism that support from alumni and well-wishers will close the gap.
CCAPSO was established in 2000 to create a unified Christian platform for Presbyterian students. It began with students from Chancellor College, the Polytechnic, and the College of Medicine, and has since expanded to institutions across the Blantyre, Nkhoma, and Livingstonia synods.
The organisation is built on five foundational pillars: Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Evangelism, and Service.
