Silver Strikers Ladies have qualified for the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifiers after thrashing Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hot Spurs Ladies 5-1 in Gaborone, Botswana.
Speaking after the match, Silver Strikers Ladies Head Coach Partlicio Kulemeka described the qualification as a great achievement for the team. He commended the girls for their dedication and strong performance.
“The win over Nsingizini was a major morale booster ahead of the semi-final,” Kulemeka said.
He pledged a top-notch performance in Thursday’s semi-final, scheduled for 27th August 2026, adding that he will urge the girls to play at their best to reach the final.
Soccer analyst Edwin Mbewe also hailed the qualification as good progress for the development of women’s football in the country.
He said the Scorchers’ recent strong showing at WAFCON was an encouraging factor for Silver Strikers to believe they can compete at the highest level.
Mbewe advised the technical panel and players to take the semi-final seriously.
Silver Strikers Ladies will face ZESCO Ndola Girls from Zambia in the semi-final, a match expected to be tough as both sides chase a place in the final.
