Quiet Time with the Lord

By Minister Collin Chingota

One of the missing ingredients in the church today is quiet time. I remember when I gave my life to Christ, this was one of the secrets given to me as a key to spiritual growth. However, today, due to the busyness of life, many have abandoned this habit and other less beneficial activities have taken control. Jesus valued quiet time as well:

Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Jesus knew the power of quiet time. It sets you apart, prepares you for the challenges of the day. Quiet time is a sure way of growing your intimacy with the Lord. The same applies to any relationship. You can not grow in relationship with your spouse without spending more time together in closeness without disturbances.

Decide today, to make quiet time the most important in your life. Set a time to sit down in prayer and meditation. Early morning is best, but you can also choose any other time like late at night. Start today!
