On Saturday, June 13 the Mausoleum for Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima (SKC), who died on June 10, 2024, in a plane crash while in office as Vice President, was unveiled at Nsipe Catholic Church Parish in Ntcheu.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by thousands of people, including family members; government officials, among them Vice President Dr. Jane Ansah; Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Bright Msaka – who represented President Prof. Peter Mutharika; former President Dr. Joyce Banda; Former Vice President Dr. Michael Usi; Paramount Chiefs, including Gomani V; M’mbelwa V; Chikulamayembe; Lundu and Kawinga.
The event was marked by a mass led by Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima of Zomba Arch Diocese; speeches; the actual unveiling of the Mausoleum; and laying of wreaths.
