In a landmark move set to revive and sustain Malawi’s premier beauty pageant, Pearl Convention Centre has been announced as the official home of Miss Malawi, through a strategic long-term partnership aimed at boosting the pageant’s visibility, professionalism, and economic impact.
Speaking at the announcement, Chifundo Dumba, Event Manager at Pearl Convention Centre, said the venue’s commitment goes beyond hosting the 2025 crowning.
“This is a starting point. We want this place to be the permanent home of Miss Malawi,” Dumba said, adding that the Centre will provide high-quality event space, logistical support, and a contribution towards the grand prize.
The iconic venue, located in Lilongwe, offers state of the art facilities, seating for up to 1,400 guests, secure parking, VIP sections, and modern digital infrastructure, all key factors that convinced Miss Malawi organizers it was the perfect fit.
Godfrey Kambewa, Chief Operations Officer for Miss Malawi, described Pearl as the right partner for a brand rebuilding its reputation after years of inconsistency.
“Miss Malawi has been like a sleeping beauty. But with this venue as our base, we now have a strategic, stable home for our meetings, summits, and main event. This partnership helps us restore Miss Malawi’s visibility and status,” Kambewa said.
The partnership supports Miss Malawi’s vision to create a credible, consistent national platform for youth empowerment, culture, and tourism promotion, with Pearl Convention Centre playing a key role in nurturing Malawi’s creative industries for years to come.
