Popular Malawian artist Patience Namadingo, popularly known as “The Doc”, is set to headline his first-ever Valentine’s Day show in Mchinji this Friday at the Chill Spot.
The show’s organiser, Mapopa Mphaka of Mapopa Mphaka Events, said the event offers fans in Mchinji and surrounding areas a rare chance to experience one of Malawi’s most celebrated performers live on stage.
“Everything is now set, and patrons should expect a massive performance from ‘The Doc’, who will take to the stage from 11:45 pm until the early hours,” Mphaka said. “Security arrangements have been significantly tightened to ensure a safe and enjoyable show.”
The event is scheduled to start at 8 pm, featuring a packed line-up of supporting acts, including Mr. Zembani, Sam Smack, Zaya 593, and Mchinji’s own rising star, Twiz Boy.
Celebrated artist Phungu Joseph Nkasa has also been added to the line-up.
Mphaka noted that the show is expected to draw fans not only from Mchinji but also from Lilongwe and neighbouring Chipata City in Zambia, making the Valentine’s Day eve a major entertainment highlight.
“This is the first time that the ‘Tuli and Mapulani’ star is performing in the border district,” he said.
Fans are already expressing excitement ahead of the event. One attendee from Waliranji, Alinafe Yona, described the show as a “must-attend” event.
“It is not often that Namadingo performs in Mchinji. This is a rare, one-time opportunity that no fan should miss. I patronise most shows in Mchinji, but this one is massive,” she said.
Tickets are on sale in both Mchinji and Zambia, with Chill Spot providing assorted beverages and snacks during the show.
