Mumba’s Music Challenge Grand Finale Set for August 2025

Preparations for the much-awaited Vitumbiko Mumba’s Music Challenge Grand Finale are now complete.

The event is scheduled to take place on August 2, 2025, at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) where 14 finalists will showcase their musical talents.

Speaking ahead of the event, coordinator Yamikani Chinguwo said the competition organized by Minister of Trade and Industry, Vitumbiko Mumba aims at promoting artistic expression aligned with national development and unity, while spotlighting Malawi’s vibrant music scene.

“The Music Challenge Grand Finale has brought together young talented artists from across the country to elevate and harness their skills. We’re proud to have reached this final stage and look forward to crowning five deserving winners.

“It will be a day of powerful performances, great entertainment and life-changing prizes,” said Chinguwo.

He added that the programme will also feature an open dance competition, live DJ Jam sessions and other exciting performances, adding that the event will be hosted by renowned artist and MC, Annie Matumbi.

According to Chinguwo, five outstanding contestants will be awarded K5 million each, making this not just a showcase of talent but a transformational opportunity for young musicians.

The Music Challenge Grand Finale promises to be a celebration of creativity, talent and Malawian pride, held under the theme: “Big Stage, Big Sound, Big Winners.” The festivities will kick-off at 10 AM and run until 6 PM at BICC.
