Ministry of Higher Education has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing access to higher education for Malawian students through its ongoing partnership with Sharda University.
This was highlighted during an interface meeting held Monday at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.
Speaking at the event, Principal Education Officer Private Mchenga emphasized the ministry’s support for such initiatives, noting that collaboration with international institutions like Sharda University is crucial in expanding academic opportunities for Malawian students.
“We are committed to working with Sharda University to ensure Malawian students achieve their desired level of higher education,” Mchenga said.
Sharda University representative, Rahul Pal, encouraged more Malawian students to take advantage of the institution’s diverse academic offerings, stating that the university provides over 135 programs.
“We aim to empower young people through education, and we offer an affordable budget, including scholarships for a wide range of programs,” Pal said.
He noted that more than 500 Malawian students have studied at Sharda University and are now contributing to the country’s economy.
He said the institution prioritizes the well-being of its international students by providing health insurance and other support services.
Pal expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Higher Education’s continued assistance to Sharda Universitity, particularly in strengthening academic collaborations.
Sharda University, currently, has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of higher Education to support Malawian graduates seeking to further their studies.
As part of this initiative, the university is offering scholarships to Malawian students who apply for financial aid.
