The film Mashroom Shade: Lissy Blue Heart is set to premiere tonight at the Apollo Auditorium in Blantyre, following its initial debut in Lilongwe last week.
The production is a spin-off from the popular Mashroom Shade series. Producer and writer Chaz explained that the film is an extended story drawn from the series, created in response to fans who wanted longer content instead of short episodes.
He added that more films could be developed from the series, with Mashroom Shade Season 2 also in the pipeline.
The film features familiar faces from the series, including Cynthia Zonde Zulu as Lissy and Bucci Worldwide as Walezi. South African content creator Victor also appears as Mr Banzi. The trailer teases additional celebrity appearances from Onesimus, Nya-uyu and Episodez.
Tickets for tonight’s premiere are priced at MK30,000 for standard entry and MK50,000 for the VIP balcony.
