Man Chi set to drop Indian inspired track Today

By Chifundo Mulekano
Malawian artist, Dalitso Chiwambo, popularly known as Man Chi, is set to release a new song on YouTube and other streaming platforms at 08:00am on Wednesday in a bold shift towards an Indian inspired music genre.
Man Chi hinted at his interest in fusing global influences into his music, with his branding already reflecting elements of Hindi and Asian inspired sounds.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA) on Tuesday, the artist said the new track aims to bring something fresh to the Malawian music scene while showcasing his adaptability.
“Music should not just be about singing the same things; it requires creativity and must come with something new and different,” he said.
He added that his identity as an artist is rooted in uniqueness within Malawi’s music industry and, as such, he avoids repetition in his work.
“I show people that I am a musician with a unique style.
I want every musical journey to come back in a unique form,” he added.
A fan of Man Chi’s music, Rehema Milanzi, said she is eager to hear the new direction the artist is taking.
“I am excited to listen to Man Chi’s song tomorrow (Wednesday).
It is not easy to switch genres like this, especially something as unique as Indian music. I am really excited to hear how he has blended it with his Malawian style,” said Milanzi.
The Ndirande based musician, who has been active in the music industry since 2011, has built a reputation for experimenting with different sounds including dancehall, Afropop and Amapiano.
However, his latest project marks a significant creative turn as he ventures into Indian style rhythms and melodies.
