Blue Eagles Football Club Head Coach, Eliya Kananji, has stepped down as head coach citing personal grounds.
However, speculations say he has opted to fill the voids left by the recent contract termination of Creck Sporting Club`s coaching panel.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA) on Thursday, football analyst Kim Kamau said he was not surprised of the development as speculations were rife following the suspension and confirmed terminated contracts of Creck Sporting Club Head Coach, Joseph Kamwendo, and his assistants Abel Mkandawire, and Chiukepo Msowoya.
He added that Kananji is a good coach who showcased his potential by coaching well known Football Clubs including Blantyre United, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Mighty Wanderers, and Civil Service United.
“I wish him all the best as he embarks on a new football club. Opting to mentor Creck Sporting Club can be a wise decision since the club is aiming for greater achievements as far as Malawi Super League football is concerned,” Kamau said.
Currently, Blue Eagles executive members have not yet spoked on Kananji’s resignation.
Whilst mentoring the Area 30 outfit, Kananji has not only managed to promote Blue Eagles following their demotion into the top flight league but also led them to the championship in FDH bank cup final over the Blantyre giants, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
