Inspirational Quotes for the WEEKEND

By Dr Charles Leyman Kachitsa

The period that we are in, Easter is one of those periods where the whole world stops in reflection. It Does not matter where ones faith is dwelt in, all will admit that the world takes notice that the occasion being celebrated has relation to the lives of people the world over. Conveniently, this is a period one takes stock of their entire life and as well as the happenings in their life in the first quarter of the year.

If a person wants to change the course on how the year needs to progress perhaps after derailment in the first quarter of the year, Easter would be the time to reflect and change, recharge knowing all is finished, it is finished. Some, tacticians have always contended that 5% of the world population would be in the upper echelon in exceeding where the majority are in, be it wealth, professionalism, and otherwise. And that the majority in the populace which would be around 70% are pegged in the middle, with the rest of the 25% being below the expectation or norm, living an average life. The challenge is on becoming, to being counted amongst the 5% which would also mean its possible for the majority to move up in unison.

To be superior and pure in what you do, you have to work smarter and be always above the average. Push yourself beyond the limits of the majority. The truth is though that the majority always push you down to be with them and or to be below them. This means extra-ordinary means to be different to the majority as long as one is righteous and performs all within the rightful laws. It also means denying oneself of the luxury of life in wanting to be seen as conforming to majority wilts, what others may call group-think. Instead to always aim for superiority.

The quotes this week are a continuation extraction of guidance from a book on what makes happy work. I am sure that the few selected quotations from this book listed below will enlighten you to one or two life lessons. Read and enjoy:

MAKING HAPPY WORK by Mick Timpson

“To practice, one must retreat to a reasonably undisturbed place and sit, upright with intent. You must learn to observe without judgement or attachment to what is happening, as it happens.”

“Any change into a new state of being is the result of the fullness of nature unfolding inherent potential. —- But the apparent causes of a change do not in fact bring it about. They merely remove the obstacles to natural growth, as a farmer clears the ground for his crops.”

“Through practice we can build the capacity to be present and stay present. We notice things begin to change; we realise that being present moment-to-moment is linked to attention, and in particular, how you direct attention and sustain it without effort.”

“Others assume thinking, and particularly the thinking happening exclusively inside their head, is everything. Surely without thoughts you are nothing, you don’t exist? In fact the opposite is true. ——- In other words, you exist first as a conscious individual, as ‘I am’ (your Being field), before your thoughts start to get in the way and tell you something else (your doing field). If we go with Descartes’ model, that we referred to earlier, we are effectively projecting what we think is happening over what is actually happening. This will always lead to confusion and unhappiness. And it’s a state of mind that many of us living in the fast-paced modern world are very familiar with.”
