Inspirational Quotes for the WEEKEND

By Dr Charles Leyman Kachitsa

Quite often you have some aggrieved people expressing to others that they feel are being used by someone. It could be at the work place, in personal relationships like friendship, in the community and even sometimes in marriages. This is more expressed usually based on behaviours of the supposed \’user\’ person or the abuser. Controlling behaviour and stone heartedness goes to the heart of contention in people feeling being used by the other person.

Interestingly, those clever enough thrive in a situation where they are supposedly being used for it is in such that lessons are learnt. The user if they are truly meaning to do it in most cases loss their guide as they concentrate on tactics of how they can maintain the status quo. It is in such moments that if patience is exercised, the used can catapult the situation to their own advantage. It is in the feeling of being used that men have broken ceilings they never thought possible. Patience and the right attitude is a victorious virtue in any situation, let the others feel they are using you, do not however, lose focus of the bigger picture which always will be larger than the current situation.

Life is a game, a very interesting game. It favours the players who are more certain of their purpose, their God given purpose. Every man or woman has a purpose for which the creator brought them down to this earth for. Others may think they have an idea of that purpose but in more than all occasions they would be wrong. Only through self discovery; love of God, self love first and self serving do men or women grow into their given roles and purpose of their creation in this world. It\’s never too late you can discover yourself now, Afterall we do not know who is using who until we know it.

\"\"The quotes this week are from a book which highlights the fact for businesses not only looking to high financial performance as a mark of success but to go beyond that. I am sure that the selected quotes below from this book will enlighten you to one or two life lessons, read and enjoy:

THE HALO EFFECT – HOW MANAGERS LET THEMSELVES BE DECEIVED by Phil Rosenzweig

\”The Halo Effect – The tendency to look at a company\’s overall performance and make attributions about its culture, leadership, values, and more. In fact, many things we commonly claim drive company performance are simply attributions based on prior performance.\”

\”The Delusion of Correlation and Causality – Two things may be correlated, but we may not know which one causes which. Does employee satisfaction lead to high performance? The evidence suggests it\’s mainly the other way around – company success has a stronger impact on employee satisfaction.\”

\”Many studies show that a particular factor – strong company culture or customer focus or great leadership – leads to improved performance. But since many of these factors are highly correlated, the effect of each one is usually less than suggested.\”

\”Connecting the Winning Dots – If we pick a number of successful companies and search for what they have in common, we\’ll never isolate the reasons for their success, because we have no way of comparing them with less successful companies.\”

\”Rigorous Research – If data aren\’t of good quality, it doesn\’t matter how much we have gathered or how sophisticated our research methods appear to be.\”
