Inspirational Quotes for the WEEKEND

By Dr Charles Leyman Kachitsa

Growth in human beings means to mature and become knowledgeable of that which makes an adult an adult. Some may say it is when one becomes independent in a lot of ways than one, to be able to have some degree of liberty in making choices. Perhaps this is also evident in the animal kingdom where you observe how a young animal becomes divorced totally from its mother to indicate maturity, in most cases going beyond the perimeters to fetch food for itself.

The saying that when growth comes there is no need for a referee to blow a whistle to mark this change in status is accurate since nature in most cases has no marked stages. In fact growth in individual women or men is not universally the same in pace. It depends on a complex number of issues one of which is learning methods and the environment. Some environment and circumstances make people to mature faster, to grow earlier than normal. It makes people who would otherwise be considered under age in other areas to be counted amongst adults, qualifying to making their own spectrum of choices.

Whatever the case, the stages in nature for all things are the same. Birth, growth, maturity and death are as unavoidable steps in all things on earth without exception. An awareness of such natural tendency through learning as you pass through each stage is the best enlightenment one can attain. That is why governments spend millions to educate the masses at the various stages in their livelihood. May be that’s also why it is said once a person stop learning they die.

The quotes for this week carry on as an extraction from a book that has a lot of wisdom teaching the different life practices that if adopted not only make people understand their vocation on earth but direct them to a path of purposeful living. I am sure the few chosen quotations here given below, will enlighten you to one or two life lessons. Read and enjoy:

TOWARDS A NEW WORLD VIEW by Various Authors and Edited by Russell E. DiCarlo

“Responsible choice means making choices that create consequences for which you are willing to assume responsibility. Whenever you make a decision, and act upon that decision, you create consequences. The consequences that you create reflect the intention that you hold when you perform the action. Responsible choice requires that you become aware of your intentions. That requires that you become aware of all of the different parts of yourself. Many of these parts operate outside your field of awareness. In turn, that means that you must become conscious of everything that you are feeling. This is difficult because there is so much pain and fear in our world, but all of this is necessary in order to become authentically empowered.”

“The transformation in the human species is changing all of its social structures, including economics. The economics in which current commercial activities are embedded is based on the assumption of scarcity and the orientation of exploitation. Economic theory assumes that it is natural for a significant portion of the human family to be in need, to be lacking the basic necessities of life, in addition to many things that are necessary for physical comfort.”

“The underlying question is, ‘Why is there pain in the world?’ There is pain in the world because we create it. We have not yet learned to create otherwise; that is what we are learning. There is pain in the world in our relationships with each other, and these, by the way, are the vehicles through which we grow. There is no other way to grow except through your relationships to others. You cannot grow only through a relationship to a business or a career. Your growth depends upon your ability to interact with your fellow souls. You will not grow until you have the courage to enter into relationships with them.”

“,,,,,,, Yes. It’s like becoming a true philosopher. Plato said once that true philosophers make dying their profession. When I first read that I was very put off. I thought. ‘I don’t want to be dying all the time.’ But I realize now what that means. We are always saying goodbye to the parts of ourselves that we’ve finished. Unfortunately, a lot of people mistakenly think they are failing when they no longer have an interest in a thing. That’s actually an indication that it’s time to open to a place of vulnerability for a while, to allow some new aspect of ourselves to enter into our consciousness. We are always in that process of dying to the lesser to make room for the greater.”
