Growing up in the 1980s, mid and late, the young generation was conspicuously obsessed with two art talents, martial arts and break-dance. In both there were lynchpin artists who would be revered by the community as the epitome of perfection in these trades. They would be feared, celebrated and not wanting to leave an adjective to describe how the young society viewed them; they were adored, respected for their talent, envied and imitated at every opportune occasion.
Behind the martial arts and break-dance champions were usually more mature members of society referred to as the ‘Master’ or ‘Teacher’. These would be the mentors of the young famous champions. The mentor would be in most cases less popular than their mentee. The master would always garner more respect from the mentees though their work would mostly be behind the scenes.
A good artist always one who listened carefully to instructions from the master. They would be more disciplined as required by their mentor. The key for success in such form of art was precision and attentiveness to instructions. One needed to pay more attention to what their master required of them, at times accepting ridicule from the master as they would be given riddles to navigate. I wonder if we still have such in the youth today, such loyalty to the master and discipline in following instructions. Perhaps this is virtually done, what with advances in technology.
The quoted this week are a continuation extraction from the book which when read in full opens ones mind to a world that is, yet never fully realised. I am sure the few selected quotations below from this book, will enlighten you to one or two life lessons. Read and enjoy:
TOWARDS A NEW WORLDVIEW by Various Authors Edited by Russell E. DiCarlo
“Super love is a whole concept separate and apart from the rules under which we live in this earth/life system – that is, the law of survival. Survive, in this earth/life system means ‘Keep yourself alive and reproduce so that the species will be maintained.’ Well, the whole point is that there is something very much beyond that and super love doesn’t have any of those limitations. It may use all of these things to in turn, generate new life, but it’s a form of consciousness that we don’t understand as such. That’s basically it, and we share that consciousness with other people who we love and who love us. It’s an energy form – that’s my impression.”
“This is why I am urging that we shift from the economistic view of the world, with its flawed assumptions and simplistic economic models, to systems theory, where we understand that complex systems are governed by feedback loops, and that ‘what goes around comes around.’ This is what ecology actually teaches us about the real world.”
“If those on the leading edge are correct, if who and what we are as human beings is not confined to our physical, emotional and mental selves; if we have even greater dimensions to our nature that transcend time and space which can expressed in this world, then it seems likely that what we thought of as the endpoint of our development as human beings would simply represent a point along the way towards a far greater attainment.”
“There is a difference between pain and suffering. Pain is merely pain, but suffering is pain with meaning. There is a reason for your suffering that is worthy of your suffering. Because it has meaning, your suffering is acceptable and it is endurable.”
“More and more people are now leaving behind the limitations of the five senses. Eventually, within the span of several human generations, all of humankind will be multi-sensory. That is how significant our evolutionary transition is. It is the transition from a five-sensory humanity that is evolving through the pursuit of external powers – exploration of physical reality through the five senses – to a multi-sensory humanity that is evolving through the pursuit of authentic power: the alignment of the personality with the soul through responsible choice with the assistance and guidance of non-physical guides and Teachers. This is transforming everything.”
