Inspirational Quotes for the WEEKEND

By Dr Charles Leyman Kachitsa

Most of the practices in the world today have evolved from the basic principles set by our predecessors, past generations. Even though we have had massive shifts in advanced technology, the basic principles have remained the same. To soil we come and to soil we shall return and so is everything on earth.

The air that was there in years past is the same air. So far there has never been conclusive scientific evidence that we have had a different regime of air than that which was there when the world was created. The only thing that scientists talk about is that in some regions and localities in the world human activities may have polluted this pure air that has ever been there.

Everything that has been invented or made in this world has been made using resources, things that have always existed perhaps only that man had not yet had revelation on its vast uses. It means we may have only discovered the potentiality of things that are in this world, we are yet to see more. One can only imagine what a world it will be a 100 years from now if you can only look in awe at driverless cars, tourism to mars just to mention but a few new found man adventures.

This week we continue with a look at the quotes from a book that is based on mindfulness, on what total surrender to the amazing creations in this world means. I am sure that the few selected quotations below from this book will enlighten you to one or two life lessons. Read and enjoy:

“The average person is preoccupied with the body, its functioning, performance, appearance, and survival. The average mind is beleaguered with worries, fears of sickness, suffering, disease, and death, therefore, the mind sets about defending the body in a great variety of ways. This leads to over-attention to diet, weight, exercise, and the health of the environment. With such inner tension, by the end of the day the average person frequently feels like a victim: drained, empty, and exhausted. “

“Constant grief will drive others away. They begin to resent it unless they are in a very high place themselves and capable of effortless compassion. Chronic grief brings premature aging, a tiredness and wearingness about the person, and it can only be overcome when we have the courage to allow it to come up under appropriate conditions and have the willingness to surrender to it and let it go. “

“Fear in relationships, therefore, is giving away our power to another person and enabling them to do the very thing that is feared. The way out is to look at the worst possible scenario and look at the feelings they arouse and begin to relinquish them. Like other emotions, fear can be unraveled to its component parts, and the parts are then easily relinquished. …… “
