It is always sweet to be accountable to someone which brings that all knowing assurance of your back being covered and the trust of someone to bounce ideas with in this world that is most often uncertain. It assures one of having another person who knows their situation at given times who can check them. This takes different forms depending on the functionality and relationship whether at work, business, church, community or family levels.
There are however those who might be unfortunate not to have a direct line of a relationship whether be it through parenthood, guardianship, marriage, blood relationship and or work/ business relationship. Even then in such scenario, those who know create a strong proxy to which they make sure they are accountable to. Perhaps in some form this gave rise to concepts such as godfather or godmother, not to be equated with the holy spiritual Father in heaven though.
