A Muslim charitable organization, Darrussunnah Foundation Malawi, on Saturday donated a solar water kiosk worth 11 Million Kwacha to Mtakataka police post in Dedza district.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Sheik Abdullah Chowe, the foundation’s chairperson, said the donation was made as one way of appreciating efforts by police in the district and around Mtakataka area in particular in ensuring safety and provision of security services.

“We are so much proud for the security services our men in uniform are providing to the area, and as Darrussunnah foundation, we will continue to help and come up with more projects to the formation,” he said.

Mtakataka Police Post, Officer In-charge Assistant Commissioner of Police, Alice Gwembere, thanked the foundation for what she described as a great project.

She assured the donors that the facility will be used for the intended purpose adding that the kiosk will not only serve the officers and their families but also the suspects in cells.

On his part, Senior Group Village headman, Kakhome asked the officers to take care of the facility and further asked the foundation to continue helping wherever need arises.
