The Blantyre Motor Show, which will take place on October 26, 2024 at the Old National Bus premises in Blantyre, is set to showcase the latest cars, trucks, motorcycles and automotive innovations.
The show is being organized by the Lilongwe Motor Limited.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA) on Thursday, Lilongwe Motor Limited Chief Executive Officer, Alinane Njolomolo, said the show will bring together car enthusiasts, industry professionals and leading automotive brands.
He said the show will provide a significant boost to the local economy by drawing attention to the automotive industry and creating opportunities for businesses to showcase their products.
“The show also offers employment and collaboration opportunities for local vendors and service providers. Moreover, it will serve as a platform for fostering community engagement, encouraging local talent, and enhancing Blantyre profile as a hub for major events,” he said.
The show expects a turnout of over 3,000 attendees and aims at attracting a diverse audience from across Blantyre and surrounding areas.
“We will be implementing several measures to ensure a safe environment for all attendees. These include crowd control, security personnel and first-aid stations on-site.
“We will also ensure that the event space is well-ventilated and equipped with emergency exits. Clear signage will guide attendees and all exhibitors are required to follow safety standards when demonstrating their vehicles and products,” he said.
In a separate interview, O JUSSAB Operations Officer, Muzzammil Yusuf Patel, said they are motivated to sponsor the show as it has been organized to give exposure to the automotive industry which is in line with their mandate.
“We have been operating for the past 25 years in automotive industry, and we would like to sustain our involvement with the motor show taking place in Malawi to increase our public exposure and marketing, ” he said.
The show will provide a great opportunity for brands to connect with customers and increase their visibility.
