By Dr Charles Leyman Kachitsa

Birds singing in the morning has a sound that that expresses the hope that is there in the world for all humankind. The birds sound bring hope that it is another day and we need to rejoice and be thankful about life. That’s for those who are able to hear the sound. With their melody, the birds sound bring inner peace of mind.

You have to be attentive to the sound to appreciate the message, the message of a world alive. Most people will say the dead do not hear the morning sounds of the birds, that we are not certain for we are not yet dead. Others however, would label those who miss hearing the sound as ‘walking dead’ people.

Yet there are others who hear the morning birds singing as sound denoting a return to the harsh realities of life. In actual fact such people would not admit hearing the morning birds sound as birds singing melodiously, but as an irritating sounds that the morning brings to remind them that the troubles from yesterday are still much alive on the new day. They would be wishing the night fall to come earlier for to hides all that there is to hear and see.

This week’s quotes are a final extraction from a book that advocates finding inner peace, peace of mind through positive thought and letting things be. I am sure that the selected few quotations from this book listed below will enlighten you to one or two life lessons, read and enjoy:

LETTING GO – THE PATHWAY OF SURRENDER by David R. Hawkins. M.D., Ph.D

“One of the most prominent negative feelings that blocks success in professional life is that of envy. The underlying dynamic of envy is that when we see someone else getting ahead, this triggers our own sense of insecurity. It’s not simply that we see the other person’s achievement and feel envy. Rather, the other person’s achievement triggers in us a feeling of lack or inadequacy about ourselves. It triggers the feeling, ‘Maybe I’m not accomplishing what I should be accomplishing,’ or ‘Maybe I won’t be able to accomplish what I want to accomplish,’ or ‘Maybe my accomplishments aren’t appreciated by others and go unnoticed.'”

“Lived experience and clinical observation confirm that the majority of human disorders are susceptible to being cured by following certain principles. Many diseases can be reversed unless there is a strong karmic dominance to the contrary.”

“The mechanism of surrender is a tool only. You can use it to remove the obstacles to making a million dollars; or you can use it to remove the obstacles to the development of spiritual awareness. Most people who continuously surrender report that they discover something within themselves akin to love itself, which is independent of the body, emotions, thoughts, and the events of the world. Have you ever heard of anyone becoming displeased by this discovery.”

“Divert your attention to that which is really essential, experiemtially. Some days it rains, some days it’s sunny; some days it’s cloudy. You can’t change the rain, but you can put on your raincoat. You can be realistic and take the necessary steps to remain dry. There are many aspects of life you can’t change, but you can let go of your expectation or need that they be different from they are  With observation, for instance, you will notice that there is always a war going on somewhere in the world. So to be peaceful, it is necessary to accept that waging war is part of human nature and has been throughout all of recorded time. Mankind has been at war 97% of the time.”
